The official trailer for the latest installment in the Underworld franchise is finally here. The title of the film is Underworld: Blood Wars and it will take place after the events of Underworld: Awakening . Blood Wars will feature Selene and the rest of the vampires once again facing off against their mortal enemies, the Lycans.

Kate Beckinsale will reprise her role as Selene alongside Theo James ( Divergent ) as David, a Vampire-Corvinus hybrid, and Charles Dance ( Game of Thrones ) as Thomas, one of the last remaining ancient vampires. The film will be directed by Anna Foerster, marking her big screen debut. Foerster will also be the first female director to work on the franchise.

The first half of the trailer serves as a recap of the events of the previous four films and how everything led up to what will happen in this film. We see Tobias Menzies ( Game of Thrones ) as Marius, the new leader of the Lycans. However, earlier details have indicated that Bradley James ( Merlin ) will be the real villain of this film.

It will be interesting to see how this unfolds throughout the film. The biggest takeaway from the trailer is that there seems to be something different going on with Selene. The change in her appearance towards the end of the trailer is truly fascinating and will undoubtedly be one of the most exciting aspects of the film.
