Fans who subscribed were upset to discover Throne was not posting x-rated content, since the site is known as a place for sex workers to sell directly to fans online, and demanded refunds.
This led OnlyFans to implement limits on what creators could charge, with a maximum of $50 per use for pay-per-view content and a $100 limit on tips, both of which didn’t exist previously.
Thorne sold $200 pay-per-view content, suggesting it would be nude, causing more subscribers to demand refunds.
As well, creators now have to wait a month to receive payouts from the site, after a transaction, which used to happen weekly.
Thorne later apologized on Twitter, writing: ‘I wanted to bring attention to the site, the more people on the site the more likely of a chance to normalize the stigmas, And in trying to do this I hurt you.’
