The official trailer for the latest installment in the Underworld franchise is here. The title of the movie is Underworld: Blood Wars and will be the set after the events of Underworld Awakening. Blood Wars will feature Selene and the remainder of the vampires facing off once again against their mortal enemies, Lycans.

Kate Beckinsale will reprise her role as Selene once again alongside Theo James (Divergent) as David, a Vampire-Corvinus hybrid, and Charles Dance (Game of Thrones) as Thomas, one of last remaining vampire elders. The movie will be directed by Anna Foerster and will mark her big screen debut. Foerster will also be the first female director to work on the franchise.

The first half the trailer serves as a brief recap into what transpired in the previous four movies and how it has all lead to what’s about to happen in this movie. We see Tobias Menzies (Game of Thrones) as the character Marius, the new leader of the Lycans. However, previous details have stated Bradley James (Merlin) will be the real villain of this movie.

It will be interesting to see how that reveals itself throughout the movie. The biggest thing to take away from the trailer is that something different seems to be happening with Selene. The change in her appearance towards the end of the trailer is truly fascinating, and will no doubt serve as one of the more exciting aspects of the movie.
