The story follows Hawkeye (Daniel Day-Lewis), a white man raised by the Mohican tribe, and his adopted father Chingachgook (Russell Means) and brother Uncas (Eric Schweig). They become entangled in the conflict between the British, French, and Native American tribes, particularly the Huron warriors led by Magua (Wes Studi), who seeks revenge against the British officer Colonel Munro (Maurice Roëves).

At the heart of The Last of the Mohicans is the romance between Hawkeye and Cora Munro (Madeleine Stowe), Colonel Munro’s daughter. Their love blossoms amidst the chaos of war, symbolizing the clash of cultures and the fragile alliances forged in times of adversity.
