After the resounding success of Aquaman in 2018, DC fans have been eagerly anticipating the sequel to this epic underwater adventure. Now, their wait is about to be rewarded as Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom prepares for its release in December 2022.
Based on the DC Comics characters, the new film is being produced by DC Films, The Safran Company, and Atomic Monster Productions, and will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. It is the direct sequel to Aquaman and the thirteenth installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU).
The direction of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is in the hands of the talented James Wan, who also helmed the first film. Wan, who refused to rush the sequel during the production of the original, eventually agreed to oversee its development in January 2019, with David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick on board to write the screenplay.

Heading the cast, Jason Momoa will reprise his role as the charismatic Arthur Curry, also known as Aquaman. Joining him will be Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in an undisclosed role.
