Stephen Curry and wife Ayesha welcome their fourth child and second son, Caius Chai: ‘Our sweet baby boy decid

Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry and his wife Ayesha have announced the birth of their fourth child, Caius Chai Curry, who was born on May 11.

‘Our sweet baby boy decided to make an early arrival!!’ the four-time NBA champion wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of the newborn’s hand. ‘He’s doing great and we are finally settling in at home as a family of 6! So grateful!’

It’s unclear when Caius’ original due date was scheduled, but the couple’s first three children were all born in July – the height of the NBA offseason. Eldest daughter Riley Elizabeth was born in July of 2012, while daughter Ryan was born three years later, followed by their first son, Canon, in 2018.

The son of former NBA guard Dell and brother of Charlotte Hornets reserve Seth, Stephen Curry is entering his 16th season, and already stands as the most prolific 3-point shooter in league history. In addition to his four NBA titles, Curry also boasts a NBA Finals MVP award, 10 All-Star nods, and two Most Valuable Player honors.

Curry met Ayesha as a teenager at church in his native Charlotte, where his father was playing at the time. The two ultimately married in July of 2011.

The Currys are known to be very active in charity, church, and politics.

In fact, Stephen is already pondering a political career when he’s done in the NBA.

‘Maybe, I have an interest in leveraging every part of my influence for good in the way that I can,’ Curry told CBS Mornings in March when asked if he could envision himself running for President some day.

‘So, if that’s the way to do it, then – I’m not going to say the presidency but if politics is a way that you can create meaningful change or if there’s another way outside of politics.’

Curry was promoting a new children’s book he’s written, I Am Extraordinary, which is his effort to teach kids to value themselves as unique individuals.

He wouldn’t be the first NBA player to try his hand at politics.

Former NBA journeyman center Enes Kanter Freedom plans to run for office in 2028, when the Turkish-born US citizen will become eligible, and New York Knicks legend Bill Bradley famously served as a US senator from New Jersey from 1979 until 1997.

Bradley even ran for President in 2000 before ultimately losing to Vice President Al Gore in the primary.

Curry and his wife Ayesha are both heavily involved with charities and have supported programs aimed at helping children in underfunded Oakland schools as well as underfed youth in the Bay Area.

He’s also a proponent of racial equality, drawing the ire of many conservatives by kneeling in a ‘Black Lives Matter’ t-shirt during the national anthem in 2021.
