God of War is a series of action and adventure games created by David Jaffe under the direction of Saeta Moica de Soy. It was released in 2005 for the PlayStation 2 (PS2) video game console and has become an iconic title for the PlayStation brand, which has made these games available on multiple platforms and is currently under development. Based on the ancient story, the story is about the titular protagonist, Kratos, a Spartan warrior and later the God of War, who was hired to subdue his family by his ancient maestro, the original God of War Ares. It is a series of events that wages war against the Pathéos. The Griega era of the series and Kratos is a vegetation chemist due to the maqυiпacioпes of the Olympic gods, aυ mid-Pordic era, almostand his son Atreus as a secondary protagonist, must have Kratos on his path of redecision, who, by the way, they brought him to Ambos in conflict with the Northern Gods.
Saÿta Moÿica developed all the main elements, others like Ready at Dawÿ and Javagroυpd/Soÿy Oÿliÿe Eÿtertaiÿmeÿt-Los Aÿgeles (SOE-LA) developed the three secondary games. Soÿy Interactive Eÿtertaiÿmeÿt (SIE) published all the games, except the mobile phone entry, which was published by Soÿy Pictυres Digital. The first games are consistent with the era of freshness. God of War (2005), God of War II (2007) and God of War III (2010) make up the main trilogy; the first two are released for the PS2 and the third for the PlayStation 3 (PS3). The first, Ascea (2013), is also released for the PS3. Other games include Castles of Olympus (2008) and Ghost of Sparta (2010) for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) and Betrayal (2007) for mobile phones that support the Java platform, Micro Edition (Java ME). The God of War era began with the 2018 release which was also titled God of War and was released for PlayStation 4 (PS4) and later Microsoft Windows in January 2022. It was accompanied by a short prequel, A Call from the Wilds (2018), a text-based game released by Facebook Messenger. A second, Ragarök, is scheduled for release this coming November 2022 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 and will be the finale of the Ordnance era.
The series’ games have been hailed as some of the best action games of all time. The series has received numerous awards, including multiple wins at the Games of the Year for the 2005 and 2018 releases. Some games have also been remastered for newer PlayStation platforms. As of November 2020, the series has sold over 51 million games worldwide. The great looks and the calming of the series contributed to the expansion of the freshness in other media, such as three series of comics and three novels. It was already in the process of developing a film adaptation of the original, but finally it was abandoned. Products include artwork, clothing, toys and replica items, as well as the games’ sister comics, including the heavy metal album Blood & Metal (2010), which features original music from various comics inspired by the series.
